2023 Summer Reading List

FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE: All incoming freshmen and sophomores are required to read THREE of the following works:

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

JUNIOR/SENIOR:   All incoming juniors and seniors are required to read THREE 

of the following works:

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

 The Tenth Man by Graham Greene

You will be tested on this reading during the first week of school in September. The test will consist of fifteen multiple-choice questions on each of the works you have read. The score you receive will count as 10% of your first quarter English grade.

NOTE:  Local bookstores are stocking these works at our request.
