Freshman, Meghan Andersen among the top 100 by Newsday

Meghan Andersen, a freshman was selected by Newsday as one of the top 100 girls basketball players for 2019-2020.

Andersen is six foot and is expected to take on a big role in her first year on varsity, adding athleticism and size in the backcourt. Coach Randy Todd said Andersen’s presence “will be big this year…watch her make an impact in the Catholic League.”

She is the daughter of Denise Hammersley Andersen and Kevin Andersen. Denise is a ’91 graduate of the Academy and holds most of the basketball shooting records. Denise was the first OLMA athlete to have her uniform retired. Meghan’s twin sister Kaitlyn plays on the JV team and is making a big impact as well.
