Transportation to Our Lady of Mercy Academy
Our Lady of Mercy Academy students travel from Nassau and Suffolk Counties, as well as portions of Queens County. State law mandates that districts provide transportation to OLMA if a student resides within 15 miles of our school. Please contact your district directly to receive the most up-to-date information. A list of districts that currently provide busing for the current school year is listed below. OLMA offers alternative transportation options to support students without busing; details below.

Syosset Train Station Shuttle
For students living beyond the 15 mile bus limits on the North Shore, OLMA provides a shuttle bus service to and from the Syosset Train Station of the Long Island Railroad. The shuttle picks students up at the Syosset LIRR station in the morning and return service is provided for the 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM dismissals. Students can bring a certified letter by OLMA to their home train station to purchase monthly train passes with a student discount. Please visit your home train station or the Long Island Rail Road Website at www.MTA.info/lirr to find out more about the cost to and from Syosset. The Syosset Train Station is on the Port Jefferson Branch of the LIRR, with transfers at Hicksville, Mineola, Floral Park, Jamaica, and Woodside for those coming from other train lines. Students sign up daily on the OLMA website, so the shuttle driver knows to expect them.

The shuttle picks students up at the Seaford LIRR station in the morning and return service is provided at 5:00 PM. Students can bring a certified letter by OLMA to their home train station to purchase monthly train passes with a student discount. The Seaford Train Station is on the Babylon Branch of the LIRR, Western stops on the line include Rockville Centre, Baldwin, Lynbrook, and Freeport. Students sign up daily on the OLMA website, so the shuttle driver knows to expect them.

Districts providing a late bus at 5:00 PM are indicated as such below and highlighted. Please understand that, in order to receive the most up-to-date information, you are strongly encouraged to contact your school district directly, as these offerings are subject to change. The last two school years have seen significant changes to the late bus offerings, so please be sure to contact your district with any questions as changes continue to be made.
